Coffee - the new 'wine'

by Beechworth Bakery in Bakery News

Australia is fast becoming a nation of coffee drinkers with an ever-expanding "cafe culture". Coffee beans and coffees are more and more being described like grapes & wines, because like fine wines, a good espresso will vary from country to country, region to region, and year to year.

Statistics show that women are more likely to opt for lattes, while men show a preference for coffees without milk, yet the biggest seller overall is still the cappuccino.

While it is easy for the growing number of cafes, coffee shops, bars etc that are popping up everywhere to offer coffee, it is not so easy to offer consistently good coffee. Today most coffee drinkers are very particular about the standard they’re willing to accept, and are becoming much more brand-loyal.

To ensure you will always receive a satisfying cup of coffee at our Beechworth Bakeries, we have sharpened our focus on coffee and its quality. We will never be coffee snobs because we believe that coffee making should be fun, but with every passing day we get a little better at understanding and tasting espresso, the intricacies of steaming milk and making a nice cappuccino. Along with the tastes of Australian coffee drinkers we have evolved, and today we have fully trained baristas (who will continue to update their training) to create memorable coffee, consistently.
