Following the success of Ride For The Little Black Dress in 2011, the event is back for 2012. This year a team of 22 cyclists and 4 support crew are planning to ride from Canberra to Melbourne. From March 10 the team will cover over 1,000 kms and travel through some of the most spectacular and challenging terrain across New South Wales & Victoria. This year's ride is made a little more interesting by the fact that the riders will have to tackle not only The Snowies, but also Mt Buller.
With a larger team, and a different route, they are planning on raising $200,000.
The riders, wearing little black tutus, will come to Beechworth on Monday, 12 March, and stay overnight, before heading into the hills on their way to Mansfield. But before they continue their ride, they'll be having breakfast at the bakerywhere they'll be joined by a group of local riders, as well as Tom O'Toole (who'll be wearing 'approriate' attire in support of the good cause. =) We won't give it away but it WILL be a hoot!)
Beechworth Bakery is proud to support this team effort and assist in communicating their mission, which is to save lives through awareness, early detection and the prevention of bowel cancer.
