The new Beechworth Bakery Healesville is scheduled to open its doors in the second week of September 2006
Wednesday, 30 August 2006

Healesville is the site of the 1st Beechworth Bakery to be purpose built from the ground up. Using quality timbers and materials, the building maintains the bakeries country charm. The Bakehouse is in the full view for the customers, so come and watch the vanilla slices being hand made right in front of you…… nice and fresh, just how we like it, seven days a week from 6am to 6pm.

The latest bakery seats up to 200 people, with 170 spaces for cars, buses and bikes. This is the ideal meeting place or stopover for our famous pies and cakes.

Healesville is famous for its wines and fresh food, breathtaking scenery and luxury accommodation. If you’re looking for a region within easy driving distance of Melbourne, then they don’t come much better than the Yarra Valley.

This will also provide many part-time jobs for the community, with a staffing number of about 30 people, ranging from decorators, retail staff, supervisors, cleaners and juniors.

Interested applicants can download an application form from their website beechworthbakery.com.au, or by dropping in and filling out an application form.

Successful applicants will receive customer service training, which is compulsory within this bakery’s standards of priding themselves with great customer service.

Located at 316 Maroondah Highway Healesville Vic 3777.

The Healesville bakery opening comes after Beechworth Bakery opened its 2nd bakery in Echuca back in 2001, its third bakery at Albury in December 2004, Bendigo in April 2005 and Ballarat in June 2006.

Surrounding the bakery in the East End’s development is the Innocent Bystander Winery.

The winery has already commenced operating with their winemaking facilities, and is in the process of opening its cellar doors to the public.

Located at 27 Camp Street Beechworth stands the famous Beechworth Bakery, which houses so much history. Originally it began as a one-story building, built around 1857. The second story and balcony were added in 1900, and it then retailed as a shoe shop. 1974 was the year Tom O’Toole purchased the building for the first time. He named it the Ideal Café and Milk Bar, and built his business rapidly. Three years later he sold the building and moved to Western Australia where he was branded a leading country baker, only to return again in 1984 to repurchase it. Alongside the bakery was a drapers building that Tom also bought, and new developments began almost immediately.

Today stands a magnificent bakery, with the most delicious and mouth-watering cakes, pastries, breads and pies one could imagine. From Beestings, Chocolate Éclairs, Snickerdoodles, and Vanilla Slice, to Steak pies, Bushman pastries, Country Chicken pies, sandwiches, coffees and more.

This impressive bakery has also over the years won many awards, including Victorian Small Business Tourism Destination.
