Leading Edge Bendigo
June 2005

The famous Beechworth Bakery recently opened its new state-of-the-art bakery in Bendigo Victoria. From the first day of trading, it was evident that this new store will continue the success of the Beechworth Bakery name. "We had an overwhelming first week of trade with about $60,000 turnover. At one stage, we were running at full capacity, struggling to keep up with demand. This location is perfect. We have ample off street parking that is a premium draw card in Bendigo now and we are right on the major road in and out of town. We are still in the process of fine tuning our signage and landscaping and hope to have this competed shortly", said co-owner Marty Matassoni.

Marty's plans include signage across the entire roof of the building and colonial themed artwork throughout the interior of the dining area. The main serving area has been chosen for its exquisite appearance and functionality and features Yarra Ranges shop fittings and an inbuilt Kam pie warmer behind the counter.

The Beechworth Bakery has a fine tradition of customer service. Staff members are hand picked for their courteous manner and attention to detail, which has seen its reputation grow as one of the leading bakery/cafes in Australia.

From its inception in 1984 the Beechworth Bakery with baker (entrepreneur) Tom O'Toole at the helm, has enjoyed remarkable success. Plans for the next bakery are progressing well with more bakeries earmarked for completion on a national level. Where will the next Beechworth Bakery be? We'll keep you posted.
